WebWhen Thankful Woodward was born about 1646, in Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America, her father, Henry Woodward, was 40 and her mother, Elizabeth Mather, was 30. She married Captain John Taylor III on 18 November 1662, in Northampton, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. Not much is known about Henry Woodward's early life. He is thought to have been born in Barbados. His father was William Woodward and his mother was Esther Martin. In 1666, Henry Woodward accompanied Captain Robert Sandford's exploration of the South Carolina coast.
