Cura initial layer speed not working
WebJul 29, 2024 · Within the printer there are Maximum's for Accel and Speed. It's possible to ask Cura to set Accel to 6000mm/sec² and it will go into the gcode that way. Then the line gets to the printer and the printer says "No way...Max Accel is 500" and so the Cura time estimate is way off compared to how long the print actually takes to finish. WebDec 8, 2024 · The initial layer is Layer:0. The raft layers are negative numbers so your first slow layer would be the first layer of the part. In higher layers then yes, that setting wouldn't work for you. Instead, you can find the layer (minus "1") in the gcode and manually add an M220 command. As I say, 15 speed, 30 travel works fine for me. 15 is pretty slow, so you should be able to notice a difference. If you still don't, and it appears the same speed, there might be an issue. Do a skirt too if you don't already. Just gives the nozzle a chance to get going. Also make sure your bed is clean.

WebIf the reason you are going slow is so the nozzle doesnt tangentalize small features, you can you the small feature settings in cura to set a threshold circumference and then set a slower speed for those areas. My normal travel speed (TS) is 300mm/s after the first layer.
